Making your own Grab-Pics

Here is a tutorial that will help you make your first grabpic. Making one of these isn't as hard as it looks, my
guide is a simple five step program. Read on and enjoy!
You will, of course, need a good image editor for this, i recommend Jasc Paint Shop Pro (PSP).
Step 1:
First you must, of course, find a framegrab (which is getting harder everyday, thank you fox).
After you have found one open it up in PSP. The image i will be using is to your right.
|

|
Step 2:
Now, you should take out all the extra things in the image that you will not need. After that you should
resize the image, I usually enlarge it by 500%, you can do more or less but large enough to follow the
lines (rather easily). Remember to save the image every so often (trust me on this one!)
|

|
Step 3:
Before you start drawing create a new layer . Then select the drawing tool
, change the brush size to 5 give or take, make sure that anti-aliasing
is off. Now you can start retracing all the lines in the image... (this could take some time, but you will get
better at it!)
|
|
Step 4:
After you have finished tracing the lines in the image you can delete the background layer with the framegrab. Now it should
look like what is to the right. Now you can start filling in all the colors (this is the fun part). Open the old framegrab so that
you can use those colors in the new image.
Here are some common colors: (in RGB)
Skin: 255,217,15
Marge's Hair: 23,145,255
Marge's Dress: 209,255,135
Maggie's "Baggie" & Ribbon: 125,255,255
Homer's Pants: 112,209,255
Homer's "Beard": 209,178,112
|
|
Step 5:
Now you can resize you image to a size you want (the smaller it is the less shaky the lines look). After it is resized you
can change or delete the background (i usually leave it white). You can save the file in GIF format. And now you have
completed your first grabpic.
