Bart runs away from home and while he is in a shelter he is put on camera and starts feeling guilty, he returns to the house, apologieses to Lisa and thanksgiving is whole.

The family dosn't like the idea so he is taken to see Captain Lance Murdock, his hero, who explains the dangers. Bart doesn't pay much attention and sets up a plan to jump over the Springfield Gorge, but at the last minute Homer steps in and saves the day for Bart, but not for himself.
