After Bart fails another test, he is informed that he may have to go through the grade again. In an effort to get through he strikes a deal with Martin Prince, the class genius, to make Bart smart, while Bart makes Martin "cool." Bart manages to succed in making him cool, but Martin becomes too popular to make Bart smart. The day before the test Bart studies all night, but still manages to Fail the test. Bart pleads to Mrs. Krabappel to give him a passing grade...
In an effort to gain back his dignity (and hair), Homer gets a hair transplant which succeds! While at the office. Mr. Burns promotes him and gives hime an assistant who helps Homer travel the road of success. Unfortunatally Homer's precious hair begins to fall out, but his assistant gives him a great speech. During his speech the audience is apauled at his hairless look and pay no attention to the speech, it is a sad day for Homer.
The first in a yearly Simpsons phonomina, this great episode includes three short stories. In the first, the family moves into a haunted house where all the members try to kill one another. The second introduces Kang and Kodos, an intergalactic duo that want the family. The third involves Lisa reading the classic E.A.Poe story "The Raven," which Bart finds amusing and Homer finds startling.
During a fishing trip near the power plant, Bart and Lisa capture a three eyed fish. After the town hears of it they are disgusted and seek assurance from Mr. Burns, though when Marge serves him the three eyed fish, on live tv, Mr. Burns lets his true feelings about the pollution problem out.
Homer is tending her beer at Moe's Tavern when he starts telling the story of when he became the Isotope's mascot. It all started during the seventh ending stretch, when he began to dance atop the dugout, the crowd went wild, his popularity grew quickly. At the peak he was invited to be a mascot for the Capital City Capitals, he gladly accepted the job, but when the time came to perform he didn't receive the expected praise.
The Simpsons and Flanderesses are at it again, but this time Bart and Todd become part of it. The two neighbors have entered their childern into a mini-golf tounament, though neither wishes to be part of it, they go along with their parents. The two duke it out on the greens and at the final hole the two are tied, when against Ned and Homer's wishes the quit and call it a draw.
Lisa has spent the last week building an accurate model of the first thanksgiving, with the pilgrims thanking the Native Americans. When Bart needs room on the table for his centerpiece (which he quickly glued together) he throws Lisa's into the fireplace, which causes her great pain, emotionally. Bart runs away from home and while he is in a shelter he is put on camera and starts feeling guilty, he returns to the house, apologieses to Lisa and thanksgiving is whole.
While watching a monster truck event, Bart is in awe when his favorite daredevil lands a great stunt. So impressed Bart begins to become a daredevil himself. The family dosn't like the idea so he is taken to see Captain Lance Murdock, his hero, who explains the dangers. Bart doesn't pay much attention and sets up a plan to jump over the Springfield Gorge, but at the last minute Homer steps in and saves the day for Bart, but not for himself.
When Marge sees an episode of "The Itchy and Scratchy Show" she becomes convinced that it is morally wrong and she starts a petition against it. Amazingly she succeds and the show is taken off air, but this upsets all the kids in town. Eventually she gives in and the show is back on air, but not quite the same as it was when it was taken off.
When Mr. Burns orders Smithers to drive faster and recklessly he accedentally hits a child inocentlly skateboarding around, this child is Bart. When taken to the hospital, Lionel Hutz, a sleazy lawyer, offers to get $1 million in a lawsuit, Burns is ready to settle on a nice sum of $500,000, when it comes to his attention the most of Barts injuries are fake.
When Homer discovers the art of Sushi, he goes to the "Happy Sumo" restaurant, where he orders the most deadly fish in the world that only one chef at the restaurant can safly cut. Unfortunatally this chef just quit, and it is up to an incompetent employee to cut the fish properly. He fails. Homer finds he only has one day to live and tries to cram everything into it, he falls asleep dictating his will and in the moring Marge finds him limp in the chair.
The Simpson family television breaks down, to cope with the time Marge tells Bart and Lisa the story of when she and Homer met. Homer was a bad student and Marge was becoming a feminist, Homer asked Marge to tutor him in French and the two fall for each other until Homer tells her he isn't in French. Prom comes along and a horny, nerd asks Marge to the prom, she accepts. Later she sees that Homer is the one she truly wants.
Homer becomes the BMIT (Big Man In Town) when he get an illegal cable hookup, with hundreds of channels. Lisa becomes engulfed in an ethical delima when she wants to watch the channels, but knows it is religously wrong and illegal. With Homer swelling in friends he invites the whole town to his house to watch the big fight, but he, too, feels guilty with Lisa and joins her on the porch.
Marge ensists that Homer help find Aunt Selma a husband. Bart gets into trouble at school, when Homer goes to find out what it is he realizes that Principal Skinner is an eligable bachlor and sets him up on a date with Selma. When he goes to pick up Selma he falls in love with Patty, but Patty sees that Selma is depressed about it and dumps Skinner to make her happy.
After years and years of seperation Homer finds out that he has a new brother, that is a CEO of one of the top car manufactures in the country, Herbert Powell. The two brotherine meet at Herb's place and they have the time of their lives, but when Homer designs a shoddy car Herb is sent to the gutter and Homer is sent back to his home.
Santa's Little Helper becomes the devil incarnate when he begins to destroy everything he can get his paws onto. Homer didn't mind everything else the family owned getting destroyed, but after he bought $100 new shoes and the dog destroys them, he forces SLH to go to obedience school, Bart as the teacher. SLH seems doomed to failure, but as Bart succeded, SLH does the same.
Grampa Simpson lives at the Springfield Retirment Castle, where one day he meets a lovely "young" girl, whom he falls in love with. Bea Simmons loves Abe, but when she sees Mr. Burns, and his money, she falls in love with him. In order to prove his love for her Abe almost kills himself to get the two to break apart.
Marge's old love of painting is rekindled when she finds some of her artwork in the attic, so she applies for a painting class at the local college. As she progresses and gains confidence she enters the art fair, and wins! This attracts Mr. Burns' attention so he tries to get her to make a painting of him that does justice, but when she can't find any beauty in him she draws him in the nude.
Mrs. Hoover, Lisa's teacher, get a case of Lyme Disease which means it is substitute teacher torcher day for the students. When Lisa sees the substitute she falls in love and tries her best to impress him. Unfortunatally when Mrs. Hoover heals, Mr. Bergstorm has to leave and this leaves Lisa devistated, she is now forced to find new role models.
After a large fight in front of the neighbors, Marge decides that her and Homer's marriage cannot survive without counciling, at Catfish Lake. The Lake contains a great fish, General Sherman, which Homer vows to catch, but Marge beleives if he does there marriage has failed, Homer promises not to fish. He is unable to resist the temptation and catches the fish, but his love for Marge compels him to let it go.
Bart becomes obsessed with buying the first issue of RadioActive Man, but it costs $100, he only has one-third of that. So Martin, Milhouse, and Bart come together and scrounge up the money to pay for it, but not realizing that the other two figure that they own it fully. The three boys do not let the comic book out of there site, which will be the end of it...
Mr. Burns, the towns evil presence, gets drastically ill and the only person that can save his life is Bart, with his double-O negative blood. Homer holds back in the hopes of getting some money out of the deal, but Marge plays his conscious and talks him into letting Bart do the right thing, which is letting Burns take his blood without getting anything in return.
